The New Path IVThe insistent pounding of the drums was enough to drive a man mad. But they seemed to drive this one man into a frenzy. He could already feel and smell the blood that had yet to be spilt. The rage was filling him, preparing him to not just kill anyone who got in his way but utterly demolish them. He would destroy those who got between him and his goal, even if the memory of it was driven away by the drums.  
Soon the pounding was replaced by the cries of the men at his back. He raced into the battle in front of him, wanting to kill, to destroy. He could feel the flesh give way with his first strike. He was exhilarated and repulsed by thi The New Path IV

The New Path IIIThe man growled again and then Cal heard Herri gasp behind her. She asked, “You alright back there?”  “Yes,” came the croaked reply.  
“Good, now climb up and then pull me out of here.”  There was a rustle of fabric as Herri pulled himself out of the hole. From there he reached down and pulled the girl up to join him. The stranger stood. As he did he felt Herri’s cloak slide off of him. Other than that one piece of fabric, he realized that he was completely bare. From above him a hoarse voice said, “Are you well?”  The stranger looked up and saw Herri reaching down with his hand The New Path III

The New Path IICal Turona sat in a tree while she was on watch duty. The moon had just risen and everything was quiet. Boredom was setting in as she contemplated waking her friend Herri early again just to have someone to talk to. Suddenly the forest, about a half mile away, began to sparkle. “Well that looks interesting and I was told to investigate any strange,” Cal remarked to herself as she slid off of her resting place.  “I should probably tell Herri where I am going. He does worry so.” As soon as her feet touched the ground she made her way slowly and carefully back towards camp. As soon as she reached the camp she slowly made The New Path II

The New Path IEvery man, woman, and child has one path that they follow. These paths are created by the choices that are made. Sometimes the only chance that a person has at finding their true selves is to start at the beginning or they will be lost forever to the darkness.   
 Talar Melcan was said to have been doomed to the darkness while he was still alive. There was no warmth or kindness in his pale tan eyes. Some said that it was his eyes that made him so feared.
